The enlargement of UV-protection up to a wavelenght of 400 nm is necessary for places where photochemical aging processes should be reduced to a minimum. e.g. museums and/or shopping windows
 
UV light with wavelengths from 290 nm to 300 nm is absorbed by many materials, e.g. plastics, resins, or farnishes. Although these materials are stable against visible light, they can be damaged by UV-radiation.

The consequence: direct photochemical radiation damages on objects. UV rays with short wavelengths do more direct damages instead of visible and infrared light.

semaSORB® FC400

For the production of laminated glass and laminated safety glass (LSG) PVB interlayers are used. Standard PVB interlayers absorb UV radiation up to 380 nm but the novel UV protective interlayer semaSORB® - FC400 absorb UV radiation up to 400 nm and keep continious protection up to 100 % without yellowish effect.

: UV-Nano-coating
The speciality of the semaSORB® FC400 interlayer is a new UV-nano-coating, which can be adapted especially for every customer. This new coating is able to increase the UV protection in window glass up to 420 nm.

semaSORB® PET400

The very special property of this UV protection layer is the scarped absorption edge and the broadband effect up to 400 nm involved. The main field of application can be found in the shopping business, where a transparent and colourfast UV protection is always required.

semaSORB® PET400 layers guarantee 100 % light protection up to a wavelength from 400 nm and thus protect products over a very long period.

semaSORB® PET380

Especially in the wrapping business you will find transparent foils, films and wrappings with different shapes. These products consist of PET, PP or PVC.

: But all have the same disadvantage
UV radiation passes the surface, damages the material and the product behind through photochemical processes.

Not only sun light damages the material over a long time, also the artificially light from fluorescent lamps and halogene lamps causes damages. e.g. bleaching processes or brittle fractures

semaSORB® PET380 layers stop these damaging processes and guarantee 100 % light protection up to a wavelength from 380 nm and thus protect products over a very long period.
